Al Warsan 1 through 4 wrap around International City and run out to the eastern edge of the city. It is a mixed district: apartment blocks and Warsan Village on one side, light industrial and workshop units on the other. Two things follow from that. Parking is almost entirely uncovered, so cars sit in full sun all day. And with open ground and unpaved edges close by, what lands on them is wind-blown sand rather than city dust.

Airborne sand is quartz, which is harder than automotive clear coat, so wiping a dusty car dry or running it through a brush tunnel drags grit across the finish. And panel temperatures above 70C make shampoo and hard water evaporate before they can be rinsed, baking mineral spots into the clear coat.
